1. Non-legally binding guidelines

We do everything we can to secure your data on our secured and restricted database servers. We may store data on servers outside of your home country, and we may be required to disclose data to Governments and Law Enforcement agencies upon request.
Personal data and information protocols will be stored, but not shared with any third parties unless required by law.
Abroadwith considers the protection and confidentiality of your data to be very important. Your personal data will be collected and used solely within the statutory provisions of the applicable data protection laws namely, Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (Federal Data Protection Act - BDSG). Our Data Protection Declaration explains what personal information is collected from users of Abroadwith, and how it is used. It also explains how you can ask questions, make suggestions, and complain about our privacy practices.
Our goal in collecting information is to provide and improve our services and content, to administer your Membership and to enable users to enjoy and easily navigate our Website.
In this Policy we will inform you of the type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data. You may access this information at Abroadwith.com at any time.
3. Subject matter of data protection
The subject matter of the data protection is personal data. As defined in sec. 3 (1) of the German Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (Federal Data Protection Act - BDSG), this consists of individual information on personal or objective circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as your correct name, your postal address, your e-mail address, your telephone number, and usage data.
4. Collection and use of data
What is personal information?
Personal information is any piece of information that relates to a living, identifiable human being.
Whenever you visit Abroadwith.com, whether as a registered user or a non-registered user just browsing, our servers automatically record information that your browser or mobile phone sends when you visit a website (“Log Data”). Log Data may include information such as your Internet Protocol address (“IP”), phone operating system and model, browser type or the webpage you were visiting before you came to our website, pages or sections of our Services that you browse or click on, the information you search for on the Service, the time spent on each of those pages, login times, dates and other statistics.
Abroadwith uses this information to monitor and analyse the use of the Service by the user, for technical administration, to increase our website’s functionality and its ease of use to better tailor our services to your needs, and improve your experience. We also use this information to verify that users meet the criteria required to process their requests. Abroadwith does not treat Log Data as personal information or use it in association with other personal information, though we may aggregate, analyse and evaluate such information for the same purposes as stated above regarding other non-identifying information.
5. User data
You do not need to provide us with any personal data in order to visit the Website. However, certain Services do require that you register for an Abroadwith account and, by doing so, you will provide us with certain information, including but not limited to: your correct name, your postal address, your e-mail address, your telephone number, personal interests, languages and data usage. When registering on our services through social media accounts (Facebook or Google+) you authorise access through Facebook Connect and Google+. By connecting to our website with Facebook and Google+, you give us permission to access, store and use your information from Facebook and/or Google+ including, but not limited to, your User ID, any information that you have permitted Facebook or Google+ to share with us and any information you have made public in connection with that service (“Personal Information”).
We also collect the other information that you provide as part of registration and the administration and personalisation of your profile (e.g., topics and interests) (“Non-Identifying Information”).
Abroadwith also collects credit card, Paypal and other payment information as needed to process payments for services. We do not permanently store your credit card information. Third parties will, however, store your credit card information in order to process your booking request, as specified on point 9, Service Providers . If you are a host we will store payout information (bank account information and/or Paypal) in order to transfer your income generated from services provided. We use your Personal Information (in some cases, in conjunction with your Non-Identifying Information) mainly to provide the Service, complete your transactions, and administer your inquiries. We will share part of this personal information (name, contact information and details on the booking) with language immersions hosts, language tutors and language schools after you decide to book/receive their services.
Certain Non-Identifying Information would be considered a part of your Personal Information, if it were combined with other information in a way that enables you to be identified. But the same pieces of information are considered Non-Identifying Information, when they are taken alone or combined only with other non-identifying information (for example, your viewing preferences). We may combine your Personal Information with Non-Identifying Information and aggregate it with information collected from other users of the Service to attempt to provide you with a better experience, to improve the quality and value of the Service and to analyse and understand how our Service is used. We may also use the combined information without aggregating it to serve you specifically, for instance, to deliver a product to you according to your preferences or restrictions.
We may directly collect analytics data, or use third-party analytics tools, e.g. from Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Facebook Insights and others, to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Service. These tools collect information sent by your browser that assists us in improving the Service. We collect and use this analytics information in aggregate form such that it cannot reasonably be manipulated to identify any particular individual user.

We also use your Personal Information to contact you with updates, service messages, newsletter-marketing and other information that may be of interest to you. You may opt out of commercial promotion notifications on your account admin.
Like many websites, we use “cookies” to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes. We use “persistent cookies” to save your username and login credentials for future logins to the Website. We use “session ID cookies” to enable certain features of the Service, to better understand how you interact with the Service and to monitor web traffic routing on the Site and aggregate usage of the Service. You can instruct your browser, by changing its options, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the website you visit. If you do not accept cookies, however, you may not be able to use all portions of the Site or all functionality of the Service.
Abroadwith collects, uses and stores your location history to establish your location, improve your experience, and from time to time, send you information, such as promotional offers that are most relevant to your geographic location.
You may manage how your mobile device and mobile browser share location information with Abroadwith, as well as how your mobile browser handles cookies and related technologies by adjusting your mobile device’s privacy and security settings. Please refer to instructions provided by your mobile service provider or the manufacturer of your device to learn how to adjust your settings.
We may place advertising or other links on our sites that originate from outside advertisers. If you view these ads, the advertisers may assign a cookie. Abroadwith does not control these cookies, nor is it responsible for any marketing or other use of your name by these advertisers. Market Research: Occasionally, we ask our customers to complete market research surveys. Survey results are aggregated and shared with our advertisers, sponsors and affiliates in a manner that does not disclose personal information.
Identity theft and the practice currently known as “phishing” are of great concern to us. Safeguarding information to help protect you from identity theft is a top priority. We do not and will not, at any time, request your credit card information, your account ID, login password, or national identification numbers in a non-secure or unsolicited e-mail or telephone communication.
8. Information sharing and disclosure
When you register through our Website and submit your Personal Information our users and users of certain third-party websites will see your first name as well as topics connected with your first name. You can choose what other Personal Information or other information to provide as part of your profile (“Personal information”). You can review and revise your profile information at any time.
If you sign up via your Google+ or Facebook account, your account in the website and your social media accounts will be connected. Information regarding your topics can be shared with Facebook and Google+ and will appear in your Facebook or Google+ news feeds, according to the settings you select when you “share”. Please review and consider what content and information you want to share on Facebook.
9. Service providers
We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform business-related services (e.g., without limitation, maintenance services, hosting, database management, web analytics, moderation services, payment processing and improvement of Abroadwith features), or to assist us in analysing how Abroadwith is used. These third parties may have access to the above listed information only to perform these tasks on our behalf, and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
10. Compliance with laws and law enforcement
Abroadwith cooperates with government and law enforcement officials and private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We will disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of us or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop activity we may consider to be, or to pose a risk of being, illegal, unethical or legally actionable.
11. Changing or deleting your information
All account holders may review, update, correct or delete the Personal Information in their registration profile by contacting us. If you completely delete all such information, then your account may become deactivated. If you would like us to delete your account and/or records in our system, please contact us at email@example.com with a request that we delete your Personal Information from our database. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor your request. We may retain an archived copy of your records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
The security of your personal information is very important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. When you enter sensitive information, such as a credit card number on our order forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).
We will make any legally required disclosures of any breach of the security, confidentiality, or integrity of your unencrypted electronically stored "personal data" (as defined in applicable state statutes on security breach notification) to you via conspicuous posting on our Website in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, insofar as consistent with (i) the legitimate needs of law enforcement or (ii) any measures necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore the reasonable integrity of the data system.

These other websites or services may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, solicit Personal Information or collect data from you. Other websites follow different rules regarding the use or disclosure of the Personal Information you submit to them. 14. Policy toward children
Abroadwith explicitly does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from people under 18 years of age. Minors must be sure to obtain parent’s or legal guardian’s permission before using the site. If a parent or legal guardian realises that his or her child has provided Abroadwith with Personal information without their previous consent, he or she should contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We actively encourage parents and legal guardians to get involved with their children’s internet usage and to be aware of the activities minors participate in when online.
15. International transfer
Your information may be transferred to, and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your jurisdiction. If you are located outside Germany and choose to provide information to us, Abroadwith transfers personal information to Germany and processes it there. Your consent to this Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
16. Business transfer
Circumstances may arise where, whether for strategic or other business reasons, we may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your Personal Information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy.
